Produced annually by the students of Anderson University, the Ivy Leaves Journal showcases a selection of creative works. We gather our student’s storytelling in mediums both visual and literary; narratives that reflect over a century of heritage as the University’s only student-read, student-led journal. These pages hold the stories of our artists, writers, designers, and innovators, their individual creative identities unified in the Ivy Leaves Journal, giving voice to who we are.

Ivy Leaves' purpose is rooted in the stewardship of these stories. Every spring, our design and literature teams cultivate this journal as a home for student work. Both teams are dedicated to representing the original voices of our students, working to create a place where raw creative expression and skillful craft meet.

Edition 100 marks a significant milestone—a celebration of over a century of Ivy Leaves. This edition reflects on its rich legacy while refracting its essence through a contemporary lens, transforming the old into something new. It serves as a bridge, connecting the shadow of what has been with the beacon of what is yet to come.

When conceptualizing the branding for the 100th edition of Ivy Leaves, we kept returning to the metaphor of light. Light is both timeless and transformative—a thread that connects past, present, and future. But we didn’t stop at visible light. We looked beyond, venturing into the unseen spectrum: infrared.

Infrared photography provided us with a striking inspiration. In this medium, the world is reimagined—colors are transformed, and light behaves in unexpected ways, offer ing a fresh perspective. One fascinating phenomenon in infrared photography is that plants appear as vibrant pink.

This edition is about seeing the past in a new light. Quite literally, when you view Ivy Leaves through the lens of infrared light, they reveal themselves as bright pink. Pink, then, becomes more than a color—it’s a symbol of legacy, discovery, and the unique ways we can reframe tradition.
